Wrong indeed, circumstantial confrontations meaning little at this point. Lost and weary from constant travel through the drenched environment he’d found himself in, the fellow warrior was more than eager for a chance to rest his aching feet. Yet, at the combined sight of the weapon the stranger held and his less than hospitable welcome, it seemed the prospect of a peaceful encounter hung by a very thin thread.

Gloved palm tightening around the crimson hilt of his own massive sword, the dim glow of mako hues pierced through damp strands of gold. Hair that would normally stand upright in a proud manner had been rendered limp by the weight of water; dripping from each and every crevice he’d happened to pass by. Chills encountered the bare flesh of his arms in a constant touch, and pale brows remained furrowed through the less than comforting environment.

A strange being within a strange construct within a strange land. Cloud was more than out of place.

“No.” He mumbled, knowing full well that the shadow would be speaking the truth. Whoever ‘he’ was, Cloud remained unsure— but this was his first encounter with any form of (supposed) human life since his arrival to this bizarre place, so whoever the being was waiting for, the possibility of it being him lacked reason. No one could have known of his arrival, after all. Not even he himself.

“Will you be barring my way?”

The stranger’s question was met with a tilt of dark features, the outline of a pointed hat swaying along with the motion. Whilst it was true that this husk had little purpose than to live for battle, there was no qualm to be had with this outlander.

Not unless–

“Should you choose to disturb this sacred ground any further, then I shall have no option but to draw my blade.”

Indeed, for the shadow had waited seemingly countless long years to fulfil it’s purpose. No foreigner would ruin that, for certain. The meeting between the chosen Hero and his doppelgänger was one that was had been predestined to occur since the dark warrior’s creation, and any deviation from Link’s path - no matter how minor - would have to be prevented at all costs.

Although the dark being only sought to clash blades with ‘his’ other half, this fiend would not hesitate to destroy those who might impede the path of it’s opponent – Whether their actions were intentional or not.

“Turn back. Nothing awaits you along the path ahead, save for a most painful death.” Most painful indeed, for this– Ah, this man, whoever he was, was certainly not prepared to face Morpha… Not that it was even his place to interfere here. “Only one worthy enough may go beyond this point.”
